WIREHAVEN KENNELS

At WIREHAVEN KENNELS, we have taken something started as a passion and turned it into a breeding & guide business bound for success. We are located in Lino Lakes, MN where we live together with our German Wirehaired Pointers (GWPs) most of the time. We have a cabin in McGregor, in the heart of Minnesota's grouse & woodcock population, and access to private hunting land with prime upland bird habitat. Our GWPs are exposed to all upland game birds, waterfowl, and the occasional fur/blood track; however, Wirehaven GWPs see more grouse and woodcock throughout the hunting season and learn to navigate the grouse woods at a young age.

Our goal is to breed dogs that exhibit confidence in the field, the show ring, and most importantly, at home, where they spend the majority of their time. We ensure our GWPs have stable and dependable temperaments, avoiding both shyness and aggression. Only those dogs that meet our high standards for hunting skills, temperament, and conformation are considered for our breeding program. At Wirehaven Kennels, we combine our lifelong hunting passion with the exceptional skills of our GWPs—Buzz, Woody, and Jessie. Our guide services are designed to offer an upland hunting experience in Northern parts of Minnesota, and Wisconsin specializing in grouse and woodcock. As a hunting family with multiple GWPs, we have firsthand experience with the versatility, and reliability these dogs bring to the field. Starting our journey in 2011 with Rusty, our first GWP, we were blessed with the love, talent, and willingness to serve that this amazing breed has to offer. Our dogs provide guide services in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin during the upland season,  go on various hunting trips Southwest for pheasants, and wake up early for waterfowl throughout the hunting season. Our GWPs are always looking for something in season.
